Here at the CLASS Academy, we believe that everyone has the right to an education. We understand the need of alternative education and provide that service to our communities. If you believe that a student would find a more fitting education with us at the CLASS Academy, our intake process below will guide you through using these steps:

Using Initiative

At the Academy, we believe in using positive reinforcement and showcasing real-life consequences for discipline, rather than traditional punishment. We do this through the School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS). Below is an outline of the program:

Transition

We understand that transitioning to a new school and new environment can be challenging and difficult for all parties involved. Transitioning to the CLASS Academy is different and unique for every individual. This is why we devised a plan to allow each students’ individuality to become part of the transition process:

Step 1: After intake into our program, students are given a series of tests and surveys over the first few weeks.

Step 2: Transition plans and goals are created based upon student’s responses to tests and surveys.

Step 3: Steps To Success Profiles are created based upon intake information, transition goals, and response surveys. A meeting with the home school district, parents, staff, and student is held to discuss the STS Profile and plan.

Step 4: Students participate in job shadowing, school site visits, and attend speeches based upon interest.

Step 5: Mentor meetings are held monthly to monitor progress of goals and plan.

If you are interested in beginning the intake process, please see Forms & Documents.
